A robbery at Ringgold’s Walgreens Monday night might be related to a robbery earlier this year, officials say. Police believe the robberies might have been committed by the same person.

According to Ringgold police detective Patrick Mason:

The robbery occurred at 7:40 p.m. The robber entered the store about 30 minutes before the robbery to investigate the situation. He left a handbag on the shopping aisle in front of the pharmacy.

Later, when he returned, he picked up the bag, pulled a revolver from his waistband and jumped the pharmacy counter.

After ordering the staff on the floor, he told the pharmacist open the cabinet where the Oxycontin was kept.

The robber jumped back over the counter and left the store approximately two minutes after he entered the store the second time.

He got into a small, red or maroon SUV, which was driven by a white female.

The suspects were last seen heading south on Alabama Highway.

Here is a description of the robber: white male; possibly in his 20s; 5-feet 6-nches to 5-feet 7-inches; about 150 pounds; wearing camouflage cargo shorts, white tennis shoes, tan or off-white long-sleeve T-shirt and red sunglasses; carrying a yellow nylon bag with blue handles.

Previous robbery

Like the most recent robbery, an unidentified male took Oxycontin at gunpoint from the Ringgold Walgreens pharmacy on Jan. 27.

According to Mason:

At around 8:40 p.m. the suspect jumped the pharmacy counter, holding a gun.

He told the staff to get on the floor, while the pharmacist unlocked the cabinet to get to the drugs. Then, the suspect jumped the counter and left the store.

He was not seen leaving in a vehicle, but he did have a handbag like in Monday’s robbery.

Witnesses said the robber had brown hair and was in his 20s.

This robber is suspected in a robbery on East Brainerd Road in Chattanooga on Jan. 5.

drug test at the high schools and the drug problem will deminish. not drug testing is an error of omission and allows drug abuse to go unchecked.
