Local cheerleader to perform in Thanksgiving Day parade at the Walt Disney World Resort
Caroline Johnson from Heritage Middle School in Ringgold is one of more than 500 elementary, junior high and high school cheerleaders and dancers from across the country who will perform in the “UCA/UDA Thanksgiving Tour at the Walt Disney World Resort” in Orlando, Fla.
The individuals invited to perform in the parade are part of a select group of cheerleaders chosen as cheerleading and dance All Americans during Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) and Universal Dance Association (UDA) summer camps across the country. All-Americans are selected via tryout based on either superior cheerleading or dance skills. Only the top 12 percent of the cheerleaders and dancers from UCA or UDA camps earn the chance to march in a holiday parade of this caliber.
Johnson will perform with the UCA/UDA All Star group in the pre-parade at the Magic Kingdom Park on Thanksgiving Day.
Caroline has cheered for Heritage Middle School the past two years on the Football-Competition Squad. She also cheers for United All Stars where she has been on National Championship teams for the past two years. She is currently on Junior three level, and their competition season starts this December.
The Varsity All American program is celebrating its 23 rd year of choosing camp standouts. For more information, visit www.varsity.com or contact Melanie Berry at (800) 238-0286 or mberry@varsityspirit.com.
