Bert Loftman, a Republican candidate for the seat currently held by Congressman Nathan Deal, spoke Wednesday a group at Portofino Pizza & Italian Restaurant in Ringgold.

Loftman, who is running for Georgia’s 9th Congressional District seat, addressed the “lunch bunch,” a grassroots conservative Republican group that meets weekly at Portofino’s.

“It’s a great way for members of the party to get together and discuss things and enjoy lunch,” said Brad Scott, former chairman of the Catoosa Republican Party. “It started out relatively small, but as you can see, our turnouts have progressively gotten better.”

Loftman spoke for about 20 minutes, touching on a host of topics, including FairTax, Federal Reserve Bank, and the Constitution as it pertains to government, which are all part of his campaign “For a Healthy America.”
