Fort Oglethorpe city manager Ron Goulart says Post Fire Department has not received the monthly contribution from the city yet.

He said he’s waiting on timesheets and payroll information that “substantiate” the payment amount.

At the Feb. 22 City Council meeting, the Fort Oglethorpe City Council agreed, in a 3-2 vote, to fund POST Volun-teer Fire Department on a month-to-month basis.

The $31,667 payments will be withdrawn one-half from city manager’s contingency fund and the other half from the Fort Oglethorpe Fire Department’s budget.

The funding is temporary, until a more permanent agreement can be made between either Catoosa County and POST, or the city and POST.

“I don’t have any reason to think they won’t (provide the documents),” Goulart said.

At the March 8 City Council meeting, Goulart said the county had requested tax forms from Post. As far as he knew, Post had provided the forms.

Goulart said he feels like the county is getting close to providing an answer for Post and the city.
