Members of 4-H between the ages of 9-19 are eligible to show a beef heifer or steer or a dairy heifer. As the entry deadline for these projects get closer, it is important those interested in participating in one of these projects contact us at the Extension office to get all the details.
Livestock projects have been a part of the Georgia 4-H program from the beginning. It is a family-oriented project that involves parents working together with their 4-H member to get their animal ready for the show ring. Besides being a lot of fun and very rewarding, the livestock project helps build self-esteem and responsibility in youth.
