Walker County 4-H’ers attended Georgia 4-H Cloverleaf summer camp July 2-6 at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton.

County 4-H’ers who attended camp included Caitlin Amos, Katelyn Barnett, Zach Boling, Jordan Brown, Eli Carlton, Kimberly Davis, Aaron Day, Trevor DeBord, Logan Edgeman, Devin Edwards, Logan Edwards, Jamie Gall, Hayley Gray, Kody Green, Krista Headrick, Chase Horne, Olivia Hornik, Kurt Ingram, Josh James, Rebeccah Kinsey, Katie Knight, Matthew Mathis, Kendall McWilliams, Shelby Narmore, Elizabeth Olskey, Erica Owen, Chance Pendergrass, Cassey Phillips, Brianna Powell, Courtney Ramey, Hunter Ridley, Tanner Scott, Hannah Speir, Dustin Thrasher, Winston Tramble, Jonathan Waid and Gage Walker.

Chaperones for the trip included county 4-H agent Casey Hobbs, volunteer leaders Stephanie Barnett and Jason Hobbs, and certified 4-H teen leaders Melissa Swanson and Jack Lowery.

The 4-H’ers left by bus on Monday morning. First on the agenda was a Muskogee tribal meeting. The more than 750 4-H’ers attending camp during the week were segmented into three tribes — Cherokee, Shawnee and Muskogee. After that, the 4-H’ers went to their cabins, where they met their milk cottage counselors for a time of recreation. Then they had night recreation and cottage meetings that were conducted every night.

The 4-H’ers were able to participate in many workshops including crafts, native lore, nature hikes, Health’s Our Pledge (HOP!), conservation, natural history, raptors, herpetology, canoeing, swimming, high ropes, a climbing wall, entomology, tennis, forestry, archery, lake ecology, sailing and many more.
