The registration deadline has been extended to Thursday, Nov. 4 for the Lookout Mountain Conservancy’s inaugural “Lookout Adventure Challenge,” a new family-oriented hiking and biking fundraising event set for Saturday morning, Nov. 6 starting at 8 a.m., on trails located on the east slopes of Lookout Mountain near St. Elmo, the Incline Railway and Ruby Falls.

Proceeds from the event support LMC’s trail development and stewardship projects.

Entry fee is $40 per person or $150 per team. Participants can register at www.active.com.

The event is sponsored by the Hamico Foundation, Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Chattanooga Wild Trails, The Adventure Guild, Ruby Falls, and Suck Creek Cycle, and supported by National Parks Service, Memorial Hospital and CARTA.

The “Lookout Adventure Challenge” involves teams of up to four people, minimum age 11, engaged in a series of simple tasks on a five-mile circuit along National Parks Service or Lookout Mountain Conservancy-owned trails; a small portion of the course crosses Scenic Highway.

Along the course, teams will complete a game card, solving puzzles and answering questions about the history and ecology of Lookout Mountain.
