The firefighter, a volunteer, has been charged with arson, authorities said.
The firefighter’s identity and more details are expected to be revealed publicly during a news conference Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the LaFayette Police Department.
LaFayette police, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Georgia Fire Marshals office have been working together during the past few months to solve a rash of arsons in the city.
