· The national Pace Society of America, founded 1963, for those with Pace ancestry will meet for the 48th consecutive year June 2-4 in Chattanooga, Tenn. at the Sheraton Read House Hotel. Membership is not required for attendance. Bring along Pace/allied lines research for possible connections. Registration is $25. For more information, Call Jane Strickland Shelton at 423-240-7390.

· Homecoming will be held at the Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Lyerly, Ga. June 12. The Morning Star Baptist Church of Rockmart will be guests. Dinner will be served at 2 p.m. and evening service will be at 3 p.m.

June 3

· The Dixie Highway 90-mile Yard Sale will be held the weekend of June 3-5. It takes place along the historic Dixie Highway U.S. 41 in Ringgold, Tunnel Hill, Rocky Face, Dalton, Resaca, Calhoun, Adairsville, Cassville, Cartersville, Emerson, Acworth and Kennesaw.

· All departments of the Walker County Board of Education will be closed for energy savings. Walker County schools will operate Monday through Thursday, closed on Friday, until Aug. 29.

· The ladies mission will have a yard sale at Corinth Baptist Church June 3-4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
