The Boynton Bandits have assured themselves of a top three finish at the 6-year-old Dizzy Dean World Series in Rome, and are just two wins away from bringing home the championship.

Boynton defeated Goodlettsville National in a winners' bracket semifinal today, and will take on the Northport Nationals in the winners' bracket final at 12 noon on Thursday.

A win would put Boynton into Friday morning's championship while a loss would force them to play the winner of Thursday's losers' bracket semifinal between the Gardendale Rockets and the Sandy Plains Cougars for the right to challenge Northport for the title.

The losers' bracket final is slated for Thursday at 1:30 p.m., and the winner of that game will have to win two more games to claim the crown.
