Heritage Middle School completes undefeated volleyball season

The Heritage Middle School Lady Generals capped an unbeaten season with a straight-set victory over No. 3-seeded Chattanooga Valley in the North Georgia Athletic Conference volleyball tournament final at Lakeview Middle School on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Eagles had advanced to the finals with a win over No. 2 seed Gordon Lee earlier on Thursday.

Heritage’s Gabriella Grey was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Grey was recently invited to U.S. Olympic Training Center is Colorado for a second straight year, one of only 48 players in her age group nationwide to be invited.

The 2011 NGAC All-League team included Autumn Jackson (Rossville), Daija Cummings (LaFayette), Bethany Headrick (Ringgold), Cheyanne Lindsey (Lakeview), Shelby Thompson and Kayla Wimpee (Chattanooga Valley), Sidney Pierce and Julianna Spradlin (Gordon Lee) and Grey, Jenny Grant and Julia Taylor (Heritage).

The 2011 NGAC All-Tournament team included Hailey Quarles (Rossville), Misty Hunter (LaFayette), Elissa Chandler (Ringgold), Rachel Harwood (Lakeview), Austin Elllis and Cheyenne Davis (Gordon Lee), Haleigh Young, Brittany Blevins and Samantha Vaughn (Chattanooga Valley) and Grey, Grant, Shy Harris and Nikol Taylor (Heritage).
