COMMUNITY · Seniors and Friends of Fort Oglethorpe meet each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Constitu-tion Hall on Forrest Road. The all-volunteer group offers games, crafts, blood pressure/blood sugar checks, bingo and refreshments. Thursday, March 15

COMMUNITY · The Catoosa County Board of Commissioners will make four appointments to the Recreation Ad-visory Committee of Catoosa County. The appointees are to be citizen representatives (not current members of any county recreational associations) on the committee, and citizens of Catoosa County with knowledge and desire to serve in the best interest of the youth and citizens of the county in relation to the system of recreation. Any person interested in serving on this committee should sugbmit a resume setting forth their qualifications to Melissa Han-nah, county clerk, Catoosa County Board of Commissioners, 800 LaFayette Street, Ringgold, Ga., 30736, on or before March 15, no later than 5 p.m. Candidates must be residents of Catoosa County and over 18 years of age, and may be asked to interview for the position.

EDUCATION · Fairyland Elementary will be featured in a one-hour documentary on “Spotlight on Schools” from 4 to 5 p.m. March 15 on local cable channel UCTV: North Georgia Comcast 265, Charter 5 and Chattanooga Comcast 96.

COMMUNITY · The Rossville Garden Club meets every third Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Rossville library. The next meeting is March 15.

Friday, March 16

COMMUNITY · Gayle Medina will host a finger-food dinner for supporters of Freddie Roden’s candidacy for sheriff. Bring your favorite finger food and non-alcoholic beverages to the Bank of LaFayette community room, Friday, March 16, at 6 p.m.

ENTERTAINMENT · The Pipeline Southern Gospel quartet, a popular singing group in north Georgia, will be in concert at Newnan Springs United Methodist Church Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The church is on Lakeview Drive near Lake Winnie. The concert is free.

ENTERTAINMENT · Center Post Community center will have gospel and bluegrass music Friday, March 16, from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring Pigeon Mountain Bluegrass Band and Taylor’s Ridge Express band. Admission is free and refreshments are available. The community center is located at 8125 Ga. 337.

ENTERTAINMENT · The 3rd Annual ShamRock, sponsored by Music on the Square, will be hosted by the LaFay-ette-Walker County Public Library on March 16 at 8 p.m. This concert will feature local teen musical artists Ambi-ence, No Offense, and more. Attendees will be given the opportunity to vote for their favorite band at a dollar a vote. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of new teen books for the library. ENTERTAINMENT · Little Women will be performed live on stage at The Colonnade in Ringgold. Performances are March 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m., and March 17 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 adult admission, $12 seniors (age 55 and older), $12 students, and $11 for groups of 15 or more.
