Trojan Run to be held in Chickamauga on May 5

The 1st Annual Whitfield Oil Trojan Run (5K Run/Walk) will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 8 a.m. in Chickamauga. The WOC Trojan Run is a certified 5K course starting at the Gordon Lee High School baseball fields and winding throughout historic Chickamauga.

Registration is $25 prior to race day and $30 on the day of the event. Runners may register online at active.com (keyword: Trojan) or on Facebook at “Trojan Run, 5K Run/Walk.”

A pre-race event on Friday, May 4 will be held from 6-10 p.m. at Gordon Lee High School with race pre-registration, a cook-out ($7 adults, $3 kids), and live entertainment featuring Chris McDaniel followed by The Gravel Road Band, and plenty of inflatables for the kids. There will also be a free kids' one mile Fun Run for kindergarten through fiftfh grade.

The event is sponsored by Whitfield Oil Company and hosted by the Gordon Lee High School Alumni Association, benefiting scholastic and extracurricular programs in the Chickamauga City School System.
