Northwest Georgia gearing up for Dizzy Dean District tournaments

Youth baseball and softball fields all over the northwest Georgia area will be buzzing with excitement as the Dizzy Dean District 1 tournaments get underway starting on Friday, June 15.

The 6-year-old baseball tournament will get going on Friday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ringgold Recreation fields with the championship game set for Monday, June 18 at 6 p.m.

The 9-year-old baseball tournament will be held at the Chickamauga Recreation Complex, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 15 with the title game set for Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m.

Boynton will host the 11-year-old tournament beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 15. The championship game is slated for Tuesday, June 19 at 6 p.m.

The rest of the baseball district tournaments will all begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 22.

The Murray County Recreation Department will play host to the 7-year-old tournament, which will hold its title game on Monday, June 25 at 6 p.m. The 8-year-olds will play in LaFayette at the Lowell Green Complex with the championship taking place at Municipal Park on Friday, June 29 at 7 p.m.

The Rock Spring Athletic Association will host the 10-year-old tournament with the championship game set for Monday, June 25 at 6 p.m., while the 12-year-olds will vie for the title at Edwards Park in Whitfield County, ending on Monday, June 25 at 6 p.m.

The Lowell Green Complex in LaFayette will also entertain all five age divisions for Dizzy Dean District 1 softball.

The 8-under, 10-under, and 12-under tournaments will all get going on Friday, June 15 at 6 p.m. The 12-under tournament will conclude with the title game on Saturday, June 16 at 4:30 p.m., the 10-unders will finish up on Saturday, June 16 at 6 p.m., while the championship game for the 8-under tournament will be on Sunday, June 17 at 4 p.m.

The 6-under tournament will begin on Saturday, June 16 at 9 a.m. and finish up on Sunday, June 17 at 2:30 p.m. The 14-under tournament, which has just two teams registered, is currently listed as just a best-of-three series, which will be played on Saturday, June 16 starting at 2 p.m.
