Gateway Mall in Fort Oglethorpe will host Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 16.

"We will be saying thank you to our military members and their families," said Linda Haltin of the Gateway Mall Business Center.

Military units and vehicles used in Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq and some from Afghanistan will be on display. The Sixth Cavalry will host a mobile exhibit from their museum in Fort Oglethorpe, as well.

Fort Oglethorpe fire and police will also have exhibits on-hand.

Ms. Haltin said there will be music, games and activities for the kids.

The mall is on Cloud Springs Road, just off of I-75 at exit 353. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day with a very special, surprise guest arriving in the early afternoon.

"Come out and appreciate our military," said Haltin.
