The Dade County All-Stars captured the 9-year-old Dizzy Dean District 1 baseball tournament championship with a 7-2 win over Gordon County on Sunday afternoon in Chickamauga.

Gordon County had advanced to the finals with a 16-6 win over host Chickamauga earlier in the day.

The 6-year-old district tournament could be decided tomorrow night at the Rollins Industrial Park fields in Ringgold.

Host Ringgold will square off with Catoosa County rival Boynton (Generals) at 6:30 Monday night with the winner to face Dade County at 8 p.m., needing to beat Dade twice to claim the title.

The losers’ bracket final of the 11-year-old tournament at Boynton on Monday will pit Chickamauga against the Whitfield County Wolverines at 6 p.m.

The winner will advance to Tuesday’s 6 p.m. final against the Whitfield County Lookouts, needing two victories over the Lookouts to claim the championship.
