The year 2013 will mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Chattanooga-Chickamauga National Military Park. A series of talks has been scheduled to educate local residents on the abundance of history and activities available to the public.

The topic of the talks will be “Civil War Hospitals and Medicine” and they will take place on Sunday afternoons in July at the Catoosa County Library.

Speakers will be Jim Ogden, July 8, “Beyond the Field Hospitals;” Connie Forester, July 15, “The Battle of La-Fayette and the Hospital at Presbyterian Church;” Jerry Tollinger, July 22, “A 10th Tennessee Cavalryman;” Pat and Harold Silcox, July 29, “Colonel and Mrs. Cloud.”

Each talk will be from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the library on the Benton Place campus off Battlefield Parkway. For more information, call 423-413-3445.
