A employee of the City of LaFayette Electrical Department has been arrested after an in-vestigation into a burglary at Ledford’s Pharmacy in LaFayette.

According to investigators, Randall McAbee, 33, who has been employed by the city of LaFayette since February 2004 and originally worked for the LaFayette Recreation Depart-ment, cut off the electricity for the north end of the city on May 25 between 9 and 11 p.m.

With the security cameras and alarms disabled, authorities said McAbee, a LaFayette resident, and Dakota Guthrie, 22, of Chickamauga, broke into the pharmacy and stole around 34 bottles of hydrocodone.

The arrests were made Monday with the help of an anonymous call. According to investi-gators, more charges are possibly pending.

The investigation was conducted by City of LaFayette Lt. Robby Tate and Detective P.D. Vaughn.

Medi Thrift burglary

According to city of LaFayette Police Department, Medi Thrift Pharmacy was burglarized in the early morning hours of June 11.

The suspect cut a hole through the roof of the pharmacy and stole several hydrocodone and soma pills.

The City of LaFayette Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding the Medi Thrift Pharmacy burglary to call the LaFayette Police Department.
