Officers involved in the Fort Oglethorpe shooting on June 24 were recognized at the July 27 City Council meeting. Fort Oglethorpe police officer Mitchell Moore was wounded during the incident. Walker County deputy Terry Miller, far left, shot the suspect, John Coates. Council member Johnnie “Red” Smith, center, who was wounded in 1993 in a police shootout, and mayor Ronnie Cobb presented the plaques from the city. Other Fort Oglethorpe officers involved in shootings, but not pictured, are John McGrath, Richard Williams, Chris Clark, and police chief David Eubanks. The shooting McGrath was involved in occurred in October 1994. Williams and Clark were both involved in an incident at Wal-mart in 2005, and Eubanks’s shooting occurred in 1974, while he was with the Dalton Police Department. (Catoosa News/Heather Gentry)

I am the sister of one of deaths this officer has caused.Im not saying all was wrong but the death of my 17 yr old brother was pure murder by a officer of the law.kenneth kittle was killed oct 1, 1994 when he had took his infant child back to its low life mother who had left the infant with her elderly grandmother. It was not enough that the officer shot him in his right hand or that instead of shooting the tires of his car out ,officer mcgrath shot straight threw the front windshield of his car which caused the fatal shot to his torso. Not only did they shoot him more than once but the most aweful part is that they ( the officers ) left him in his car to DIE!!!! Yes he was still alive and it was all over the news, they showed him slumed in the driver seat and wasalive for a while, probly long enough to save him.DO YOU DESERVE A METAL,OR AWARD in my opinion no....You new you had shot him in the hand and new he was injured, but no that was not enough i guess you needed more blood, the blood of a child....I am disgusted by this, any apoligies,no..Do you even feel remores, i bet you dont.that was my brother,my blood, someones son, grandson, family. You should have thought before you reacted with such haste.i will never forget or forgive you or your department.Everyday i look in the mirror i see him we are almost twins and you have tore a family apart..be proud get your award with your blood stains on your hands . he may not have made the right decision but you are not GOD,your here to protect.AND LETS MENTION he was unarmed, lets say this again, no gun , no knife, and your reports said he tried to hit you with his car, he was in a dead end road ,were was he gona go? your officer could have handled it better than he did why dont you give him a award for that!!!!!be proud, hold that head high and know that a lot of people dislike you for this....your name mcgrath has been in my head for 14 yrs, and now im haveing my say....your a murderer
