The Catoosa County Extension Office sponsored Ag Day last week for area third-graders at Jack Mattox Recreational Complex. ”We hope this will be the first of many to come,” said Charles Lancaster, county extension agent. “With the support of all our exhibitors, we are giving students a unique look at agriculture.” With hands on exposure to farm animals and programs lead by area agri-business people, area students experience many aspects of Catoosa’s agricultural past and present. Participants included Mayfield Dairies, MC Ranch, Schoettler Rabbitry, Georgia Forestry Commission, Catoosa County Recreation Department, Catoosa County Animal Control, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Stockburger Farms and Chris Griffin with a swine exhibit.
