The Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce will celebrate a new year this weekend with a big party and new board chairman.
Chamber Board of Directors Chairman Danny Flowers will hand the gavel off to Chairman-elect Chris Casey on Jan. 8 during the festivities at the Chamber’s 19th annual meeting and gala, themed “Winter Wonderland.”
Chamber President Tammy Cole said there are big events in store for the evening.
“The Chamber’s annual gala is one of the county’s premier events and will bring together the entire community as we recognize area businesses that have done an outstanding job in 2004 as well as recognize Catoosa County’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year and Chamber Member of the Year,” she said. “It will be an exciting evening for all involved.”
Moon Dance, a top 40 variety dance band out of Atlanta, will provide the evening’s entertainment at the black-tie optional affair.
Outgoing board Chair Danny Flowers is president of Capital Bank. He started in the banking business in 1972 and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He is also a graduate of the National Commercial Lending School and the National Commercial Lending Graduate School at the University of Oklahoma. Flowers serves on several organizational and community boards.
Incoming Chair Chris Casey is vice president of Bec-Don, a family-owned steel fabrication business. Bec-Don started in 1985 and opened its Ringgold facility in 2001. Casey has served on numerous Chamber of Commerce committees, all of which include an economic development and legislative focus. He was recently named by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the “40 Under 40” rising young professionals across the state.
The Gala reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. with a program, dining and entertainment to follow at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the event must be purchased in advance and are $65 per person or $500 for a corporate table. For more information or to make your reservations, please contact the Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce at 706-965-5201.
