All the growth in Catoosa County calls for marketing expansion in the area.
Two such corporations looking to expand are CVS and Walgreens. Both companies already have a foothold in Catoosa with a CVS in Ringgold and Walgreens in Fort Oglethorpe. However, both corporations are setting up new stores in Ringgold.
The new Walgreens in Ringgold is under construction on the corner of Alabama Highway and Robin Road across from Northwest Georgia Bank. The new CVS is currently set up in the recently annexed Ringgold city limits on the corner of Battlefield Parkway and Old Mill Road near the Colonnade.
Ringgold is just a part of our expansion throughout the state of Georgia, said Carol Hively, Walgreens head of media relations.
The new Walgreens of Ringgold will be very similar to the store in Fort Oglethorpe in that it will have a drive- thru pharmacy, one-hour photo and will be open 24 hours. The only noticeable difference is that the new Ringgold Walgreens will be 300 square feet larger at 14,800 square feet than the Fort Oglethorpe store, which is 14,500 square feet.
The Ringgold Walgreens will have approximately 25 employees, Hively said.
Even though workers will complete construction on the new Walgreens in September, the store is looking to open sometime at the beginning of next year.
There is not an official date yet, but we are waiting till after the holiday season and hoping to be up and running in January, Hively said.
CVS Pharmacy has already established itself in Ringgold with its location on Nashville Street; however, CVS feels a need to open up another store in the area.
The new CVS has a scheduled opening date of June 10, according to Mike DeAngelis, corporations communications manager for CVS.
DeAngelis said the new CVS on Battlefield Parkway will be 12,000 square feet and employ a staff of 20-25.
We chose this location because we look for busy intersections that are highly visible and easily accessible for our customers. DeAngelis said.
Ringgold City Councilman Tom Clark heralded the expansions.
Were very enthusiastic about businesses coming to Ringgold, he said. Any business coming to Ringgold is a positive.
