Tuesday night, Jan. 27, around 8:40 p.m. an unidentified white male took Oxycontin medication from the Walgreens pharmacy in Ringgold. He did not take any money, according to Ringgold Police Detective Patrick Mason, but used a handbag to carry the stolen drugs out of the store.

When the suspect arrived, he jumped the pharmacy counter, holding what witnesses say was an old .38 revolver, Mason said.

He told the staff to get on the floor, while the pharmacist unlocked the cabinet to get the drugs, according to Mason.

The suspect jumped back over the counter and left the store within seven minutes. Mason said none of the witnesses reported seeing him leave in a vehicle.

Mason said witnesses reported the suspect having brown hair and wearing faded jeans, a dark flannel shirt with a gray hood, sunglasses, and a white baseball cap with an “O” on it. The suspect is estimated to be in his 20s.

Lt. Kim Noorbergen, public information officer for Chattanooga Police Department, said the man is also suspected in a robbery of the Walgreens on Brainerd Rd. in Chattanooga, Tenn, which took place on Jan. 5.
