They meet again.



Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe had to defeat Ringgold to get to the Region 7-AAAA finals.



They'll also see them again there on Thursday.



LFO sophomore Kayla Elswick hit a grand-slam homerun in the bottom of the third inning to give the Warriors a 4-0 victory on Wednesday in Dalton.



It felt really good hitting a homerun off (pitcher) Jessica Cross," she said. "She's a really good pitcher...and it was my first homerun in high school so it was pretty special."



LFO ace Lauren Flores allowed one hit and struck out 11 to boost the Warriors into the championship game.



"We knew Ringgold was going to be tough," Flores said. "But I was confident in my in my pitching and my defense. I didn't think they were going to overpower us and they didn't."



Ringgold had to defeat Northwest Whitfield 4-3 in the following match-up to earn a spot in the finals with LFO.



The cross-county dual is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. at Heritage Point.

Since LFO didn't lose a game in the tournament Ringgold would have to beat them twice to win the championship.



Cross allowed only two hits against the Warriors. The second was a single to Flores.



Ringgold 4, Northwest Whitfield 3:





Jessie Griffith gave up five hits, three runs and struck out five in the win.



Jessica Cross was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and an RBI.



Lauren Walden was 3-for-3 with two RBI's
