Other major thoroughfares into and out of Fort Oglethorpe are now closed, including Reeds Bridge Road and Cloud Springs Road. Motorists are being directed to alternate routes.
According to one Fort Oglethorpe official, Battlefield Parkway has not been officially closed since 1992 when the city closed the road for six hours
