Fort Oglethorpe authorities continue to search for the man who sexually assaulted and robbed a woman as she reported for work Tuesday morning.

According to Fort Oglethorpe Police Chief Steve Blevins, a man entered through the rear door of Advanced Foot Care on Battlefield Parkway about 6:30 a.m., and sexually assaulted an employee who was in the process of opening the office.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department at (706) 866-2512.

The suspect, who might have been driving a white 1993 to 1995 model Jeep Cherokee, took an undetermined amount of money, Blevins said.

Officers arrived about 7 a.m., after the victim placed a call to 911.

Blevins said the victim was transported to Hutcheson Medical Center for treatment.

“There were no serious injuries, but I think she’s going to have some emotional injuries,” he said.

The suspect is described as a white male, age 20-30, approximately 6 feet tall, with a slender build and short brown hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, with a Confederate flag on the back, and khaki shorts, Blevins said.

He said the suspect may have a large tattoo on his lower left leg from knee to ankle.

Detective Dave Scroggins is investigating the assault
