The Georgia House Democratic Caucus will hold a public meeting Wednesday, Feb. 11, in Chickamauga.

The event is one of a host of meetings, called Listening Tours, being held around the state Wednesday so the public can voice their opinions on Gov. Sonny Perdue’s proposed budget.

Reps. Mike Snow, D-Chickamauga, Buddy Childers, D-Rome, Barbara Reece, D-Menlo, and Paul Smith, D-Rome, will attend the Chickamauga meeting. It will be 10 a.m. to noon at Chickamauga Civic Center.

“We want to listen to people throughout the state to hear their priorities and any suggestions they may have as we consider the governor’s budget,” Rep. Childers said.

Similar hearings are being held in Albany, Athens, Atlanta, Decatur, Jonesboro, Marietta, Augusta, Coffee County, Columbus, Macon, Newton County, Rome, Savannah, and Walton County
