After more than two months of preparation, the region slate will finally begin for teams in Region 6-A and the Gordon Lee Trojans will get the first of three straight tests when the Bowdon Red Devils come calling on Friday.

Bowdon is having an un-Bowdon-like 2-5 season this far with its only wins coming against Central of Carrollton and Greenville.

They have dropped their last three ball games, including a 25-14 loss to Randolph-Clay last week.

They've been injured and banged up, but they are still a good team with really good personnel all over the field," Gordon Lee head coach Kevin McElhaney said.

Senior quarterback Will Young directs the Bowdon offense while Trevor Pollard, Ivan Glenn and De Askew are the go-to players in the backfield.

Defensively, Darrin Lester and Steven Strickland are neames to watch.

"We've tried to get better and prepare all year for the last three games," McElhaney added. "Now, they are finally here."

Bowdon holds a 15-2-1 edge since 1983, but the Trojans can make it two wins in a row with a win on Friday.

Gordon Lee claimed a 14-7 win last year in Chickamauga
