Karrie Denise Ward and Joseph Cooper Evans will be married Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. in the Walker Room at The Chattanoogan Hotel in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The future bride is the daughter of Kathy Ward and David and Bonnie Ward. She is the sister of Kristi, David Keith and Brittany Ward. She is the granddaughter of Willie and Sherma Halpin, Ruby Ward, all of Rossville, and the late Floyd Ward.

She is a 2000 graduate of Ridgeland High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 2004, with sports studies as her major. She earned a master’s degree in recreation, parks and sport leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. She is employed with Centerplate/AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Okla., as the catering manager.

The future groom is the son of Jerry and Ruby Evans, and the brother of Jim and Jennifer Evans, all of Hartwell. He is the grandson of Alfred and Evelyn Evans of Hartwell, Jimmy Shipp of Royston, and the late Agnes Shipp.

He is a 2000 graduate of Hart County High School in Hartwell and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 2004, with physics and astronomy as his major. He is employed with Farmer’s Insurance in Oklahoma City as an IT analyst
