Mr. and Mrs. Roger Stansell of LaFayette announce the engagement of their daughter, Abbie Rebecca, to Blake Ryan Austin, son of Gary Austin and Jann Strickland of McDonough.

The bride-elect is the sister of Sara Stansell of LaFayette, and the granddaughter of the late Homer Stansell and Jewell Stansell. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Black of Gainesville.

A 2003 graduate of Gordon Lee Memorial High School, she attended the University of West Georgia. She graduated from West Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She teaches at North LaFayette Elementary School. She is a member of First Baptist Church of LaFayette.

The future groom is the brother of Jacquelyn Hart of Stockbridge and Andy Austin of McDonough, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Austin, and Clark Hunt and Mrs. Christine Hunt.

A 2003 graduate of Eagles Landing High School, he attended the University of West Georgia. He graduated from West Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in sport management. He is the manager of the Hibbett Sports in LaFayette.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 6, at First Baptist Church of LaFayette
