District 1 West, the local Chapter of A.B.A.T.E of Ga. which is a motorcyclists’ rights organization, was recently presented a certificate of achievement for outstanding legislative achievement and contributions to A.B.A.T.E. of Ga. The presentation took place at the winter quarter meeting of the State Board of Directors in Austell.

The letters “A.B.A.T.E.” stand for American Bikers Active Toward Education, and their main focus is to keep motorcycle legislation in its proper perspective. They support rider education and national rights groups like the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), the Motorcyclist Riders Foundation (MRF) and the National Coalition of Motorcyclists. They believe in freedom of choice and encourage all riders to ride safely.

District 1 West meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Dari-Dip, located on West Villanow St., LaFayette, Ga. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m., and you do not have to be a member to attend or participate in their rides. Visit www.gabated1w.com or A.B.A.T.E. of Ga. District 1 West on Facebook. For additional information please contact Terry L. Simmons @ 706-313-2006.
