The Catoosa County Health Department holds quarterly classes about the proper use of car seats. The nurses who teach the classes are certified car seat technicians and have taken a four-day training. A certified sheriff’s deputy also helped with the class on March 11. In Georgia, children are required to use car seats from birth to age six. Children under four feet nine inches in height should be restrained in a booster or car seat. Classes will be held in May, September and November. Mothers who meet the income requirement are eligible for a free car seat. For more information, call the Catoosa County Health Department at 706-935-2366. (Catoosa News photos/Heather Gentry)
