The Rossville 3-year-old who, police say, suffered a bathtub scalding at the hands of her babysitter is healing appropriately and has been given a good prognosis by Atlanta doctors, the child’s mother said.

The toddler suffered first-degree burns in a tub of much-too-hot water Sunday, Aug. 1. Babysitter Amy Nicole Gosnell of Rossville has been charged in the incident, which occurred at Gosnell’s apartment.

The child’s mother posted on her Facebook page around 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, that the doctor’s visit went well and that her daughter only has one area that is still being bandaged. All other bandages have been removed, she said.

It is expected that the girl will be almost completely healed by the week of Aug. 16.

Gosnell has a warrant out for her arrest three counts of cruelty to children, including two counts of inflicting first-degree burns on the 3-year-old and one count of inappropriate discipline on another child.
